Sasha Gologorskaya - Dancer
Sasha Gologorskaya (she/her) was born in Kiev, Ukraine and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. An alumna of the San Francisco Ballet School and a summa cum laude graduate of the Conservatory of Dance at SUNY Purchase, Sasha has performed with Eglevsky Ballet, ARC Dance in Seattle, Peninsula Ballet Theatre, Hudson Ballet Theatre, and Sameena Mitta’s company MeenMoves. She has worked closely with London-based choreographer Marika Brussel in several productions including House of Names and By a Thread. As a dancer with Hudson Ballet Theatre, Sasha performed the title role in Giselle and as Juliet in Ho-Shia Aaron Thao’s female-female casting of R&J. During her time at SUNY Purchase, Sasha attended Springboard Danse Montreal and spent a semester studying abroad at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. She was featured in the NY Times for performances of Jerome Robbins’ Watermill as part of BAM’s Next Wave Festival. In addition to performing and teaching, Sasha is currently a student of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture at the Pacific College of Health and Sciences in New York City. She hopes to bring her knowledge and awareness of the body as a dancer into her future work as a practitioner, and to help increase artists’ access to healthcare and wellbeing.
