Creating more ways for people to experience dance.

MorDance believes that everyone should have the opportunity to experience high-quality dance education, regardless of financial circumstances, age, ability, or previous access to the arts.

Our education and community programs are designed to help fill gaps in access to dance. Rather than operating as a traditional dance school, MorDance develops programs in response to the needs of our community, creating opportunities for:

• children and families

• people with disabilities

• older adults

• others who may face barriers to participating in dance

For students seeking traditional, ongoing dance training, we are also happy to recommend and connect families with area dance schools that may be a good fit.

As we grow into our permanent home in Dobbs Ferry, we look forward to continuing to expand these opportunities throughout Westchester.

Youth Dance Education

Every young person who wants to dance should have the opportunity to do so.

MorDance offers fully supported dance education for children and families for whom the cost of traditional dance training may be a barrier to participation.

Our classes are taught by professional dance educators and provide students with high-quality training in a welcoming and encouraging environment. Students develop technique and artistry while building confidence, creativity, and a lasting connection to movement.

If financial circumstances make it difficult for your child to access dance education, please reach out. We are happy to speak confidentially with families about current opportunities.

Expanding Access to Dance

Our commitment to access extends beyond youth dance education.

MorDance is developing programming for people who may not be well served by traditional dance and performing arts settings, including people with disabilities, older adults, and others who face barriers to participation.

Our programs will continue to evolve as we listen to our community and identify where MorDance can have the greatest impact.

For Community Organizations

We work with schools, nonprofits, cultural institutions, service providers, and other community organizations to bring dance directly to the people they serve.

Programs may include classes, workshops, open rehearsals, performances, artist engagement, and other opportunities developed in partnership with each community.
