Evan Ambrose - Dancer

Evan Ambrose (he/him) is a dancer, educator, and choreographer from Huntsville, Alabama, whose path into dance began unconventionally at the age of 17. What started as a late introduction quickly evolved into a relentless pursuit—training at Soles Dance Center and Huntsville Ballet School before continuing as a trainee with Charlotte Ballet and furthering his studies at The Rock School for Dance Education in Philadelphia.

He has performed nationally with companies including Alabama Ballet, Ballet22, Oakland Ballet, and Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, bringing a dynamic presence to stages ranging from opera houses to contemporary performance spaces. In 2021, Evan joined Ballet22 in San Francisco, a groundbreaking company challenging traditional gender norms in ballet; there, he performed en pointe in original works and reimagined classical repertoire through a contemporary, inclusive lens.

Over the past two seasons, Evan has appeared as a principal guest artist with Palmetto Conservatory of Dance, Lone Star Ballet, Columbia Classical Ballet, and West Michigan Youth Ballet, further expanding his presence across regional and national stages.

His career extends across a wide spectrum of performance contexts, with additional guest appearances including Florida Grand Opera, Dzul Dance, III Points Music Festival and Treefort Music Fest, among others. His repertoire spans classical and contemporary voices, featuring works by George Balanchine, Agnes de Mille, Dwight Rhoden, Omar Román de Jesús, and Myles Thatcher.
