Emily Okamoto - Dancer
Emily Okamoto (she/her) is from Irvine, California and began her training at Dmitri Kulev Classical Ballet Academy under the direction of Dmitri and Jennifer Kulev. She later joined Westside Dance Project under the direction of Jessie Riley, Megan Guise and Krystal Matsuyama-Tsai. At the Juilliard School, she performed works by José Limón, Jamar Roberts, Jessica Wright, Hope Boykin, Shen Wei, Pam Tanowitz, and William Forsythe. She was a selected choreographer for Choreographers and Composers (2024) and a Choreographic Honors recipient (2024). In addition to numerous leadership positions, Emily is the founder and president of Juilliard Asian Student Alliance. She directed the school’s first Asian and Pacific Islander production. Emily is grateful for the love and support of her family and friends. This is Emily’s first season with MorDance.
