Rachel Thalman is a freelance dancer based in New York City. Originally from Pittsburgh Pa, she grew up dancing a wide variety of dance styles such as tap, ballet, contemporary, jazz and musical theatre. Thalman then went on further purser her classical ballet training under Gretchen Bernard Newburger in Zurich, Switzerland. She then graduated with a focus in ballet from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts High School. Following UNCSA, she attended Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre’s Graduate Program. There she performed ballets such as The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, and Don Quixote with Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. Following her time in Pittsburgh, Thalman accepted a trainee position with Cincinnati Ballet and was promoted to CB2 the following year. She performed many roles in ballets such as The Nutcracker, Peter Pan, Alice (in Wonderland), Lady of the Camellias, andCinderella during her time with Cincinnati Ballet.
